Ethics Complaints, Arbitration & Related Information
Consumers, You Have Options!
Washington REALTORS® provides several options for addressing and resolving conflicts involving REALTORS®. Consumers have access to ombudsman services, mediation, and the option to file an ethics complaint. Learn more about each service and choose the best option for your needs.
OPTION 1: Ombudsman Services
The ombudsman program is an optional, but highly recommended solution to resolution. Essentially, it’s an informal mediation. In some instances, it can address and solve minor complaints from the public. It can also solve inter-REALTOR® conflicts before they become serious problems.
OPTION 2: Mediation
Mediation is a collaborative process where a neutral third party, known as a Mediator, helps disputing parties reach a voluntary, mutually agreeable resolution. It offers a less confrontational and faster alternative to a formal Ethics hearing, promoting open communication and cooperative resolution.
OPTION 3: File an Ethics Complaint
If you believe you’ve been mistreated by a member of Washington REALTORS® (WR), you can easily submit an Ethics Complaint through our online professional standards submission form. The process is straightforward and user-friendly, ensuring your concerns are addressed.
