Kitsap Building Association Named Partner of the Year by Washington REALTORS®
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 23, 2024[OLYMPIA, WA] – The Kitsap Building Association (KBA) was honored as Partner of the Year during the Washington REALTORS® award ceremony on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024. This recognition is for their notable efforts and meaningful contributions to real estate.
The KBA has shown consistent efforts to enhance the property buying and selling process, introducing initiatives and forming partnerships that have significantly benefited both the local community and the association itself.
Under the direction of Government Affairs Director, Ian Harkins, the KBA has actively worked with local governments to make housing more affordable. They've promoted permit reform measures to combat housing shortages and passionately supported the cause of moderate-income housing.
Additionally, the KBA has initiated programs to address labor shortages in the construction field. They've offered grants, and created internship opportunities in construction trades, placing many interns in permanent roles, which boosts employment in the sector.
Ian Harkins is recognized for his proactive stance and influential discussions, especially noted in his interactions with the media and his opposition to policy changes that could harm the business environment, like the proposed B&O tax.
