Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR)

The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded by the Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council (REBAC), an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS, to real estate practitioners who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria. In addition, membership in REBAC includes many benefits to help your business grow, keep you up-to-date and networked, with new enhancements added each year.

With the Agency Reform of 1997, you will be representing buyers in more of your transactions.

This nationally designed course has been customized by our in-state instructors to provide state specific information.

ABR Designation Requirements – Four (4) requirements must be met to attain and use the ABR designation:

1. Successful completion of the two-day 15 clock hour ABR Designation Course, including an 80% passing grade on the exam.

2. Successful completion of one approved 7.5 clock hour elective course (ABR Elective Class schedule) , including an 80% passing grade on the exam.*

3. Documentation verifying five (5) completed transactions in which you acted solely as a buyer representative.

4. Membership in good standing with REBAC and N.A.R.

*You will have three (3) years in which to complete the elective requirement after taking initial ABR course.
